About the Company
Peony-Bloom Ventures (Education sector) is developing a new international K–12 school in Ibex Meanwood, Lusaka. We are building a disciplined, high-performance team and are seeking an experienced HR & Administration Manager to lead our HR systems and workforce management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a complete HR management system suitable for a growing school environment
- Lead recruitment processes and ensure quality hiring decisions
- Establish and enforce employee discipline and performance standards
- Manage employment contracts, staff policies, and compliance with Zambian Labour Laws
- Oversee payroll calculation, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA submissions accurately
- Build staff handbook, HR policies, and school-specific HR procedures
- Maintain strong documentation and employee records
- Ensure HR decisions align with company interests and long-term growth
- Supervise administrative operations and support school development phase
Requirements
- Must be a Zambian citizen
- Minimum 5 years of HR experience
- Prior experience in a school or education institution is strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing staff discipline and HR compliance
- Strong knowledge of Labour Law, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA
- Able to calculate payroll independently and accurately
- Highly organized, efficient, and proactive
- Strong leadership presence and ability to enforce rules
- Not a passive office-based HR — must actively engage with staff
- Ability to build HR systems, not just execute routine tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in private or international schools
- Existing HR network within education sector
- Experience building HR frameworks from scratch
