Job Purpose

The primary purpose of an HR Assistant is to support the Human Resources department by performing   administrative tasks, facilitating recruitment processes, and ensuring effective communication between   employees and management.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Support:

Assist HR Lead in the recruitment process by screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and             coordinating communication with candidates. 

Help in posting job advertisements and managing job listings on various platforms. 

Onboarding and Orientation:

 Employee Record Maintenance:

Administrative Support:

Communication Liaison:

 Compliance and Policy Implementation:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree (will be an added advantage) in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong preference for candidates with HR experience in a logistics, supply chain, or transport company.
  • Good knowledge of Zambian labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Must be a registered member of ZIHRM

  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist HR Lead in the recruitment process by screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and coordinating communication with candidates.
  • Help in posting job advertisements and managing job listings on various platforms.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring they have the necessary resources and information.
  • Collect and verify new hire documentation, such as employment applications and background checks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files, both in physical and digital formats.
  • Track employee attendance, leaves, and payroll information to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Provide clerical support to HR Lead, responding to emails, and managing HR-related inquiries from employees.
  • Assist in organizing employee surveys, training sessions, and other HR initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact between HR and employees, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of queries and issues.
  • Address employee grievances and assist in finding solutions to workplace concerns.
  • Help ensure that HR policies and procedures are followed and assist in the development of new policies as needed.
  • Stay informed about labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance within the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and people management skills.
