Our client, a leading player in the automotive industry, is seeking a skilled and proactive Human Resource Officer to join their team. This role is ideal for an HR professional with solid knowledge of Zambian labour laws and experience in managing core HR functions within a dynamic and industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Zambian labour legislation (Employment Code Act, Industrial and Labour Relations Act, etc.).
- Draft, review, and administer contracts, probationary letters, termination notices, and other HR documents.
- Coordinate recruitment processes including job descriptions, adverts, shortlisting, interviews, and onboarding.
- Manage employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary processes in line with company policy and labour laws.
- Support performance management systems and identify training/development needs.
- Maintain accurate HR records and prepare reports on staffing, turnover, leave, and disciplinary matters.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure workplace health, safety, and welfare compliance in line with automotive industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years HR experience, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, or industrial sector.
- Strong knowledge of Zambian labour laws and dealings with regulatory bodies.
- Experience drafting contracts, disciplinary letters, and other legal HR documents.
- Membership with the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management (ZIHRM) is mandatory.
- Proficiency in HRIS/payroll systems and MS Office Suite.
Skills & Attributes
- High ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to generate HR reports.
