The Beit Cure Hospital (BCH) Zambia is part of CURE International network of hospitals around the World, which is recognized as a paediatric teaching hospital specialised in the treatment and care of children living with disabilities.
Project description
The Beit CURE Hospital and its cooperating partner, Christian Blind Mission (CBM/BMZ) set out to implement an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) project in Zambia entitled titled: Strengthening Audiology and Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) Services in Zambia”. The project’s objective is to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of ear conditions, The Project covers Central, Lusaka and Southern Provinces of Zambia. The project is meant to cover three levels within the ENT Health system of the Ministry of Health (MoH); Macro level which is targeted at national decision makers and other stakeholders, Meso level targets the training of medical and para-medical specialists and Micro level involves setting up of ENT infrastructural (audiometric booths & Temporal Bone) and provision of clinical and surgical equipment and conduction of outreach clinics and school screenings.
Rationale of this study
This is a Mid-Term Review of the project which started in 2018 to date. The evaluation shall provide all the partners with a better understanding of how the project’s implementation has progressed and challenges (if any) towards attaining the set targets. The targets were set out based on assumptions available at the time of project design. This evaluation should inform project managers and funders whether the milestones were realistic/attainable, and if there is need to adjust them. .
