The LUSAKA APEX MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (LAMU) is a privately owned University, accredited by the Higher Education Authority under the Higher Education Amendment Act No. 23 of 2021 to provide Higher Education in Medical Education. LAMU is regulated by the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ), Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA). Lusaka Apex Medical University is therefore looking for mature, proactive, highly motivated and result oriented Zambians with high degree of credibility to fill the following positions.

The institution seeks to engage an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Consultant for a period of six (6) months to strengthen, optimize, and support the organization’s ICT environment. The consultancy will cover strategic, technical, operational, and advisory functions across all key ICT domains.

I. Purpose of the Assignment

To provide expert guidance, hands-on technical support, and strategic direction in managing, improving, and securing the organization’s ICT infrastructure, systems, and services. The consultant will assess the current ICT environment and identify gaps.

The ICT Consultant will provide comprehensive support covering the following areas:

• Inception report with work plan (within first 2 weeks
• ICT systems and infrastructure assessment report
• ICT risk and security assessment report
• Updated ICT policies and standard operating procedures
• Network and systems documentation
• Disaster recovery and business continuity framework
• Monthly progress reports
• Capacity-building and training sessions
• Final consultancy report with recommendations and sustainability plan
• Development and maintenance of E-campus

IV. Reporting and Supervision

The ICT Consultant will report to the designated supervisor and will work closely with the ICT unit and relevant departments.

V. Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Master’s degree in in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Relevant professional certifications are desirable
• Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in ICT systems management and consulting.
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.

• Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and best practices.
• Experience in ICT policy development and implementation.

VII. Confidentiality

The consultant shall maintain strict confidentiality of all institutional information, data, and systems accessed during the assignment.

VIII. Ownership of Work

All reports, systems documentation, and materials developed under this consultancy shall remain the property of the institution.

IX. Duration of Assignment

The consultancy will run for six (6) months from the date of contract signing.
