To plan, organize and effectively utilize materials for learners to ensure quality delivery of courses offered are in line with appropriate course units.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (MAIN DUTIES)
1. Student performance
Carry out diagnostic tests in order to identify students’ performance levels
Contribute to the institute’s continuous improvement cycle and committed to student development
Use varied assessment and maximize student engagement and learning
2. Training needs Assessments
Assist in carrying out needs assessments for courses and help in the formation of curricular for identified course
Assess students’ performance through quizzes, assignments and testing, and provide one-on-one tutoring when necessary
3. Academic Research
Guide students in their research work
4. Students welfare
Provide guidance and counseling to students
Manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive student welfare practices
Set ambitious goals with students and monitor their progress while encouraging them through frequent and persisted feedback.
5. Student Discipline
Maintain students’ discipline in class
Ensure that all students are in compliance with the institutional rules and regulations
Ensuring students attend lectures regularly.
6. Lecturing
Manage the class and help in maintaining a health learning and classroom environment
Creating a physical and virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of the students.
Prepare lesson plans, schemes and other professional documents to ensure contents are in line with TEVETA standards
Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration and TEVETA.
Collaborate with other course unit lecturers to monitor weaknesses and strength of each student.
7. Any Other Duties
Carry out any other duties as assigned by Management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits or better including English and Mathematics.
Bachelor of Art with Education
Majors in the Communication Skills and/or Entrepreneurship will be an added advantage.
Two (2) years Teaching Experience
OTHER SKILLS
All qualifications must be certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
Ability to communicate in English (in writing and verbally)
