Limestone Resources Limited seeks to employ a suitable qualified, experienced and multi-skilled individual to fill below listed vacancy.
Responsibilities or duties
Apply maintenance methodology, defining operational steps, manpower, spares and other resources necessary to achieve efficient and safe maintenance in line with technical standards.
Manage and improve the use of management tools, procedures and methodologies for maintenance.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
Grade twelve (12) certificates certified with ECZ.
Minimum of a Craft Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with ZAQA.
Technician / Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering, BSC or its equivalent
Experience needed
Minimum of 3-5 years’ mining experience in planning function focused on either mobile fleet or fixed plant
Experience in Manufacturing industries.
Adequate knowledge related to equipment function & maintenance (Crusher, Kiln, Belt Conveyors & Aux. Equipment)

- Define the detailed methodology for carrying out all the jobs according to priorities, and the required resources, skills coordination and supervision.
- Plans and schedules Equipment repairs, major overhauls and preventive maintenance workloads for Process Plant and Quarry to facilitate systematic repairs and maintenance for effective labor utilization
- Produces weekly Reports reflecting Backlog work, man hours scheduled against man hours worked, Materials/Spares costs, Overtime worked for information of relevant management decisions. The Report will also include equipment availability.
- Ensure that all the necessary materials are available for the planned operations and meet the required quantity and quality.
- Advises both operatives and maintenance of any deviation from the set maintenance schedules/procedures/work instructions and the consequences of such deviations.
- Estimates labor and material requirements, job completion times and set priorities of scheduled workloads in conjunction with Foremen to achieve effective utilization of maintenance labor, available time and materials/spares.
- Prepares time and cost estimates for work orders and job plans to help optimize resources allocation.
- Defines specifications of sub-contracted jobs together with the Mechanical Execution or Electrical sections.
- Draws up regular inventories of the spare parts and ensures their availability in co-ordination with the warehouse; Monitors procurement of Spares/Materials/tools and equipment required during scheduled maintenance operations to ensure they are correct, in right quantities and available on site when needed to minimize down time.
- Ensures equipment inspections are done effectively across site.
- Draws up the technical specifications for the purchase of the spare parts.
