Materials Coordinator

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a Global leading Supplier in Equipment and Tools, Parts, service and Technical Solutions for the Mining and infrastructure industries. Applications include Rock Drilling, Rock Cutting, Loading and Hauling, Tunneling and Quarrying. The focus lies on bringing value to customers through high-performing products that increase productivity and safety as well as to provide services and flexible maintenance programs that extend uptime and cut costs. ​

Main Responsibilities.

  • Receiving and returning of parts to stores
  • Issuing of parts to technicians
  • Receiving of components coming in for repair
  • Hard stamping of quote number onto components (or labelling if hard stamping not possible) ·
  • Issue of tools, consumables and protective clothing ·
  • Requesting replacement consumables, tools and protective clothing ·
  • Ensuring that all tools are returned at end of duty and safely locked away ·
  • Raising of requisitions for work in progress repairs ·
  • Tool store and toolbox stock checks ·
  • Compilation of receiving report

Your Profile

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum 5 “O” Level passes.
  • Diploma in Business Administration or Equivalent.
  • Experience in working in mining environment is an added advantage.
  • Experience in any computerized maintenance package system is an added advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices.
  • Basic understanding of databases.
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • Results oriented.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
