These roles are critical to upholding regulatory integrity, risk mitigation, and ensuring institutional compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies.
1. Senior Compliance Officer
Role Overview:
The Senior Compliance Officer will play a key role in implementing and monitoring compliance frameworks across the organization. The role involves coordinating risk reviews, advising on regulatory changes, and ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and enhancement of compliance programs and internal control frameworks
- Conduct regular risk assessments and propose improvements to address compliance gaps
- Analyze and interpret changes in laws, regulations, and guidelines and advise internal stakeholders
- Prepare and deliver compliance reports to internal management and regulators
- Organize and lead compliance-related training and awareness programs for staff
- Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions
- Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and internal departments to ensure audit readiness
- Provide compliance advice to teams across departments
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Certification in compliance or risk (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent) is an added advantage
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in compliance, risk, legal, or audit roles
- Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulatory frameworks
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills
2. Compliance Manager
Role Overview:
The Compliance Manager will oversee the institution’s full compliance program, ensuring that all operations, systems, and processes meet legal and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the compliance management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular compliance reviews, audits, and gap analyses
- Monitor regulatory developments, especially from the Bank of Zambia (BoZ) and Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC)
- Lead Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) training for staff
- Maintain comprehensive compliance documentation and ensure timely submission of required regulatory reports
- Perform institution-wide compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Oversee compliance monitoring programs and ensure accurate reporting of all findings
- Review and escalate suspicious transactions; oversee the submission of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all regulatory and compliance-related matters
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in compliance, audit, or regulatory roles within financial services or a related industry
- Strong working knowledge of Zambian financial regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated ethical judgment, attention to detail, and excellent regulatory communication skills
- Experience managing compliance teams and working cross-functionally is a plus
Administer and maintain technical controls such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC), encryption, firewalls, and endpoint protection Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and manage external penetration testing engagements Implement and audit secure configurations in cloud environments like AWS and Microsoft Azure Monitor system alerts and respond to threats using SIEM and other security tools Develop and deliver employee cybersecurity awareness programs and training Collaborate with IT and operations to ensure secure systems architecture and compliance Assist with audits and respond to security-related queries from regulators or stakeholders
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field At least one of the following certifications is required: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) CompTIA Security+ 3–5 years of practical experience in: Network and endpoint security administration Security operations in cloud-based environments Incident detection and response using SIEM tools Configuration of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption, and patch management
