Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver inclusive, age-appropriate PE lessons that develop fundamental movement skills, coordination, and confidence in physical activities.

Foster a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment that encourages participation from all students, regardless of ability or background.

Integrate PE with the school's broader curriculum. Assess student progress, provide feedback, and maintain records in line with school policies.

Organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, clubs, after-school programs, and school events (e.g., sports days, tournaments).

Promote health and well-being, including topics like nutrition, personal hygiene, and emotional resilience through movement.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and parents to support holistic student development.

Ensure safety during lessons by managing equipment, facilities, and risk assessments.

Contribute to school-wide initiatives, such as well-being programs or international-mindedness activities.

Participate in professional development and school safeguarding/child protection protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports science, kinesiology, or a related field (teaching qualification preferred, e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).

Valid teaching certification/license for primary/elementary education.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching PE in primary schools; experience in international or IB settings is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of child development and inclusive teaching practices.

Proficiency in English (as the primary language of instruction in most international schools); additional languages are an asset in multicultural settings.

Experience with swimming instruction or specific sports coaching is often preferred.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, with up-to-date background checks.
