Background

Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and agribusiness company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region. It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

Responsibilities

  • Installing plumbing pipes and fixtures.
  • Conducting map layouts for pipes and drainage systems.
  • Unblocking sewer drainages and carrying out repairs works.
  • Regularly assessing activities conducted to identify any significant hazards.
  • Putting an action plan in place in order to control hazards by eliminating, isolating or minimising them.
  • Making sure that tools are used properly following safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring that scaffolds and ladders are positioned properly to prevent falls (accidents)
  • Wearing and using appropriate protective clothing and safety equipment.
  • Adhering to all company healthy and safety policies
  • Observing and conducting safe work place practices.
  • Any other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 School Certificate
  • Craft Certificate in Plumbing from a recognized institution
  • Prior practical plumbing experience with ability to install, repair and maintain water, sanitation, drainage and piping systems
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings or specifications/plumbing diagrams
  • Basic communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to self –manage workload and work independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with other divisions, management and all levels of associates.
