JOB DETAILS
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching
- Be able to plan and deliver Montessori and international/Cambridge curriculum-based lessons.
- Teach and care for infants and toddlers
- Create a nurturing and stimulating and safe environment classroom environment
- Asses and monitor students’ progress and be able to provide feedback
- Design and deliver engaging lessons, assessments, and feedback to foster academic growth and development
- Develop, adapt, and refine curriculum materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of student
Child development
- Promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth
- Communicate with parents
Regular updates and progress reports
- Assess student progress
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of learners and help them work on their weaknesses
- Classroom Management and Environment
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic well-being
- Provide regular updates, progress reports, and feedback to parents and guardians to ensure collaborative support for student success
- Create a cohesive learning environment
- Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work effectively with colleagues, teachers, and staff to achieve school goals, share best practices, and promote a culture of continuous improvement
- Maintain positive Parent and Guardian Communication
Desired Abilities
- Computer literate
- Conversant with Montessori lesson delivery
- Flexible and able to work independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of baby, infant or toddler management
- Assertive
- Enthusiastic, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and work with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of work experience in delivering Montessori and International/Cambridge curriculum.
- Must have a Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or a General Certificate of
Education (GCE) with five (5) Credits or better, including English
- Must be from an accredited Training institution with minimum training period of three (3) years for Diploma and two (2) years for Certificate
- Registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia
Other Valued Criteria
- Be a person of high moral character all time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing skills, presentation, and public speaking
- Be willing to comply to Policies on Child Protection, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Gender and Disability Inclusion, Anti-fraud
