The Opportunity

Hobbiton is seeking a highly driven, results-oriented, and commercially astute Product Commercial Team Lead to drive the commercial success of our products across the market. Based at our Head Office in Lusaka, this role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of product, sales, and market execution and is passionate about shaping the future of fintech in Zambia.

If you currently reside in Lusaka or are willing to self-relocate, this is your opportunity to influence product growth, market adoption, and revenue performance in a fast-paced digital finance environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial strategy for assigned products, ensuring alignment between product capabilities, customer needs, and revenue goals.
  • Translate product strategies into actionable go-to-market plans, sales targets, pricing models, and performance forecasts.
  • Drive product adoption, revenue growth, and market penetration across B2B and B2C segments.
  • Work closely with Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to define value propositions and positioning.
  • Support the end-to-end sales process by enabling sales teams with product knowledge, tools, and commercial insights.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer pain points, and emerging trends to inform product enhancements and expansion.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships and distribution channels to scale product reach.
  • Monitor product performance, sales pipelines, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to refine pricing, packaging, and product differentiation.
  • Champion customer feedback by translating insights into product and commercial improvements.
  • Lead product-related sales training, onboarding, and performance enablement initiatives.
  • Track and analyze product revenue, profitability, and commercial KPIs.
  • Prepare product performance reports and commercial recommendations for management.
  • Use data-driven insights to guide tactical adjustments, prioritization, and resource allocation.

Qualifications

  • Full Grade Twelve or O-Level Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years’ experience in commercial, product, or sales roles, preferably within fintech or financial services.
  • Proven experience managing or commercializing digital or financial products.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management and go-to-market execution.
  • Experience working across both B2B and B2C environments.
  • Demonstrated success in driving product adoption and revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyze financial and product performance data.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
