JOB DETAILS:
FHI360 Zambia under its new undertaking; Zambia Defense Forces Prevention, Care and Treatment Project (ZDFPCT) is inviting applications from interested persons who meet the minimum requirements to fill the positions below that are vacant. ZDFPCT is an HIV/AIDS project funded by the U.S. Government’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Department of Defense (DOD).
Under the direction of the FHI 360 Country Director, the Director will be responsible for providing technical leadership and management and be responsible for the day to day running of the project. He/she will ensure the implementation and application of sound evidence based technical strategies, activities and best practices in line with the existing FHI 360 rules, regulations and appropriate national guidelines. .
Job Responsibilities:
• Provides technical oversight to the ZDFPCT project to ensure compliance with laid down policies and procedures.
• Designs, monitors and evaluates activities regarding orientation, and supervision of teams who lead these activities.
• Supports capacity building and contributes to the overall strategic goals of any assigned programs.
• Creates or revises proposals as need to facilitate strategic goals.
• Trains staff on procedures and policies to achieve set goals.
• Supports management with recommendations for process improvement to achieve strategic goals.
• Supports performance management and professional development of direct reports, including ongoing feedback, coaching, and career support.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
• Experience and knowledge in working with HIV treatment and/or PMTCT health programs in Zambia
• Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS programming and monitoring.
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infections.
• Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, partners and subcontractors.
• Well-developed oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft word, excel and powerpoint.
• Ability to undertake extensive local travel, and some international travel.
• Ability to network and interact, as well as support effective partnerships with key stakeholders, groups and individuals.
 Job Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Public health or its International Equivalent
• Doctor, Clinical Officer or Social Scientist with an appropriate first degree.
• A holder of master’ degree in relevant field such as MPH, Msc will be a plus.
• 7 to 10 years’ experience in public health, including HIV/AIDS programs
• Experience of care and support for HIV/AIDS at the clinical level and sound understanding programmatic technical areas is desirable
• Familiarity with Zambian public sector health system.
• Previous experience working with the military though not a necessity will be added advantage.
• Must be a Zambian citizen
