PROVINCIAL COORDINATOR
Overview: The Provincial Technical Coordinator shall oversee all the operations of the regional office. Plan all staff schedules in order to ensure regular and effective support to Jhpiego supported government health facilities providing voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services, Identify, plan, and ensure effective implementation of regional training of health workers. Organize and coordinate regular VMMC outreach activities, advocacy and provincial program review meetings. Ensure adequate use of data for decision making in the management of facilities. Represent Jhpiego in provincial and district level meetings to facilitate Jhpiego interests in the province. Manage the effective stocking and distribution of VMMC supplies to all facilities. Manage VMMC campaigns by ensuring adequate planning of human resource and logistics for VMMC National and Mini campaigns..

  Responsibilities
• Perform and demonstrate male circumcision procedures during trainings and site support visits
• Maintain contact with trainers and trained providers
• Keep inventory of equipment and resources for VMMC outreach activities
• Provide strong and innovative technical leadership and set priorities for the VMMC programming in the province.
• Ensure project coordination with MOH, PHD DHD and other professional organizations to ensure buy-in and support for VMMC service delivery initiatives.
• Coordinate with the Advocacy, Community Mobilization and Communications Advisor to coordinate demand creation efforts with service delivery at provincial levels.
• Provide leadership and guidance to provincial technical teams to ensure high quality activities are being carried out in a timely manner and targets are being met.
• Represent Jhpiego in professional circles through meetings, conferences and presentations.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues’ donors and other implementing partners.
• Contributes to annual work planning, training plans and quarterly reports and other required technical reports
• Provide training, follow-up support, and supportive supervision as necessary for particular activities.
• Provide technical support during male circumcision clinical skills trainings
• Take part in the post-training follow up of participants
• Maintain Trainer and participant records
• Conduct data analysis and interpretation to support decision making at every level
• Preparing post-training reports


Qualifications
• Degree in relevant field/Medical Licentiate /Registered Nurse with experience in the provision of VMMC.
• At least Six years’ experience in VMMC
• Should be a certified VMMC provider and proficient in performing standard dorsal slit male circumcisions
• Demonstrates ability to work with efficiency and diplomacy as part of a team effort
• Proven ability to achieve results
• Demonstrates presentation and oral communication skills
• Should be available to travel in-country up to 50% of the time
• He/she must be computer literate in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Be able to handle and analyse data and process documents/reports.
• Experience in managing outreach activities will be an advantage.
• Valid practicing license with the Health Professionals Council of Zambia or General Nursing Council
