Job Details
Job Title: Provincial Postmaster - Lusaka
Grade: ZPSC5
Department: Postal Networks and Logistics.
Reporting Line: Regional Manager – Southern.
Job Type: 5 Years Contract
Purpose of Role
To provide strategic, commercial, and operational leadership for postal, courier, logistics, e-commerce, and financial services in the province, with accountability for revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and service excellence, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership, supervision, and performance management of District Postmasters and postal agencies.
- Develop and execute provincial sales and business development plans aligned to corporate revenue targets.
- Drive revenue growth by expanding customer base, growing volumes, and increasing uptake of postal, courier, financial, and e-commerce services.
- Ensure Lusaka branches operate as profit centres through effective sales planning, upselling, cross-selling, and cost control.
- Oversee delivery of postal, courier, logistics, e-commerce, and financial services to ensure efficiency, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate and standardize operations across districts in line with approved SOPs and service standards.
- Lead rollout and market penetration of new and existing products and services, including EMS, fulfilment, payments, and agency services.
- Supervise provincial financial operations, revenue collection, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Ensure effective customer service delivery and timely resolution of escalated complaints.
- Enforce security, internal controls, risk management, and compliance with postal, financial, and corporate regulations.
- Engage key stakeholders including government institutions, SMEs, corporate clients, and community partners, and represent ZAMPOST at provincial forums.

- Practical understanding of logistics, distribution networks, and last-mile operations.
- Sound financial and commercial acumen with ability to manage profit centres.
- Strong operational coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation abilities.
- High integrity, accountability, and ability to work under pressure.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office and operational/financial management systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with at least five (5) credits including English and Mathematics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Marketing or any related field.
- Professional certification in Postal, Logistics, Supply Chain, Financial Services, or Accounting will be an added advantage.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years’ proven work experience in retail, logistics, financial services, telecommunications, or customer service operations, preferably in multi-branch or territory-based environments.
- Demonstrated experience in distribution management, operational coordination, territory management, and account management.
- Prior supervisory, branch management, or regional coordination experience will be an added advantage.
