We are a fast-growing food retail business committed to delivering fresh, high-quality products and excellent customer service. We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Stock Controller to join our team and ensure efficient stock management operations.
Position Overview
The Stock Controller will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, managing stock movement, and ensuring accurate stock records. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and experienced in stock control within a retail or food environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels
- Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
- Manage stock rotation and minimize wastage (especially perishable goods)
- Coordinate with purchasing and sales teams to ensure optimal stock availability
- Maintain proper storage standards in line with food safety regulations
- Generate stock reports for management
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Stock Controller, Inventory Clerk, or similar role (food retail experience preferred)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience with inventory management systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and stock rotation principles (FIFO) is an advantage
