VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: SUPERVISOR – 100 TON TRUCKS

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly motivated and committed employees for the position of Supervisor – 100 Ton Trucks to join the versatile Maintenance Team. We are in search of individuals who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Coordinator – 100 Ton Trucks, you will be responsible for coordinating technicians and leading the maintenance, repair, and performance optimization of the 100-ton haul truck fleet.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets and operational priorities.
  • Overseeing day-to-day maintenance activities for the 100-ton truck fleet, including proper allocation and execution of tasks.
  • Working closely with maintenance planners, operations teams, and contractors to maximize fleet availability, reliability, and productivity.
  • Managing and prioritizing work orders, maintaining accurate documentation, and securing all necessary approvals.
  • Supervising both planned and unplanned maintenance work to ensure minimal disruption to production.
  • Coordinating repairs, component replacements, and scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring that all maintenance work follows approved procedures, standards, and cost-effective practices.
  • Liaising with operations to align maintenance schedules with production requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and asset histories.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Craft/Advanced Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering field.
  • Six (6) years’ experience in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance.
  • Proven background managing light and rubber-tyred equipment fleets.
  • Strong knowledge of haul truck systems, diagnostics, and component life cycles.
  • Valid Zambian driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate technical teams.
  • Familiarity with maintenance planning systems and reliability principles.
  • Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
