Job Purpose

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team in processing insurance policies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring efficient service delivery. The ideal candidate will assist in evaluating risks, preparing documentation, and communicating with clients and internal departments while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist underwriters in reviewing applications, policy documents, and supporting information.
  • Prepare quotations, endorsements, renewals, and policy documentation in line with company guidelines.
  • Accurately capture and update underwriting data within the system to ensure records remain current.
  • Communicate with clients, insurers, and internal departments regarding policy requirements and updates.
  • Verify completeness and accuracy of submitted documentation before processing.
  • Maintain proper filing, record-keeping, and confidentiality of underwriting information.
  • Support the underwriting team in meeting turnaround times and service standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • College qualification (Insurance, Business, or related field preferred).
  • Basic understanding of insurance underwriting principles is an advantage.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Responsible, proactive, and able to handle confidential information with integrity
